He died for all

I recently read somewhere, that CNN did some research on professed Christians, & found that the majority of them didn't know what the Gospel actually is, nor were they able to articulate it.
The study also found that most professed Christians, were really "moralistic, therapeutic, deists"! What this means, (in a nutshell), is that they became Christian in order to "live by the moral rules, so they can be better people", also to "fix their lives, because they need 'self-help'", and that God made the world, but took His hands off of it. So they are still, (in some ways), in control.
It is obvious to see, that this is really a self-centered, consumer driven attitude and heart. Is it all about WIIFM..."What's In It For Me"? Certainly not!
Many doctrines suggest and teach that it is about building yourself up. This is a "half truth", just like Satan tries to use to ensnare us, to make us stumble... consistently. Our "building up" should be so that we can be more effective for HIS KINGDOM! Not so that we can be prosperous with worldly, temporal things. For example...
We are called to love our families, but not to idolize them, nor place them before God and His purpose.
We need to remember that our lives are not our own, "we have been bought at a price", and we are called to "deny self", to live sacrificially, to serve and not to be served. To have compassion for the lost and weary, and to help fill needs.
This verse helps to put this into perspective. Examine yourself, to see the motive of your heart. Who...or what... Do YOU live for? Or because of?
